For better management and administration of the sanctuary the forest and environment department, government of Bihar by its resolution no. Vanaya/Prani 92/90-60/19 V.P.dated 14.12.90 decided to transfer the former units of administration along with the managerial responsibilities to constitute a single administrative entity, the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary under the administrative control of Wildlife Division, Ranchi by 26.03.92. the plan.

Later on,sanctuary becomes an integral part of Gaj Pariyojna Jamshedpur in 2013. The sanctuary administration has involved in preparing the management plan in consultation with various stake holders. The principle objective of the management plan is to strengthen wildlife management by restoring wildlife habitats beside identifying various aspects (Like-Catchment area restoration, Tribal hunting prevention, Forest Fire prevention) for enhancing the viability and carrying capacity of the sanctuary. The major challenge of the administration is to implement the provision/suggestions mentioned in the plan.
